After an incredibly meaningful chapter with the Fort Worth Economic Development Partnership, I will be departing the organization to join Lockheed Martin Aeronautics’ Government Relations team. My final day with the Fort Worth EDP will be September 1.
This decision comes with tremendous gratitude. Together, we have helped build real momentum: strengthening Fort Worth’s business recruitment pipeline, expanding our reach with corporate decision-makers and site selectors, and establishing an independent organization positioned to compete for jobs and investment on a national stage.
I am incredibly proud of what has been accomplished, but I am equally proud of the approach the EDP has taken to get there.
Fort Worth deserves thoughtful, strategic economic development—work that is disciplined, intentional and built for the long-term. That approach is not always the easiest path. In many ways, it is the harder way. But I believe the harder way is the right way, and ultimately the sustainable way. Building a strong economy requires patience, consistency, and a willingness to make investments today whose full impact may not be realized for years.
I know that, as business leaders, you are often asked to give your time and resources to worthy causes across our community, all while leading your own organizations and remaining accountable to your own stakeholders. Please know how deeply your investment in the EDP is appreciated. Every dollar entrusted to this organization is taken seriously and put toward one objective: advancing Fort Worth and strengthening its economic future.
Fort Worth’s momentum is undeniable, but it cannot be taken for granted. I hope you will continue—and, where possible, deepen—your support of the EDP. The organization’s long-term success depends on business leaders who understand that economic development is not a short-term campaign, but an ongoing investment in the competitiveness and prosperity of our city.
For me, joining Lockheed Martin represents an exciting opportunity to serve one of Fort Worth’s most significant employers and a company that plays a critical role in our community and our nation. While my professional role is changing, my commitment to Fort Worth is not.
It has been a genuine privilege to work alongside you. Thank you for your trust, your friendship, your investment, and your shared belief in Fort Worth.
With gratitude,
Chelsea Griffith
