817 Biz is owned and operated by Scott Publishing LLC, a publishing firm established in Fort Worth in 2008. The newsletter is produced by a team of journalists directed by Jerry Scott, President.
Scott is a seasoned marketing veteran who has held senior leadership roles at The Kansas City Star and Fort Worth Star-Telegram. In April 2009, he entered regional magazine publishing with five magazines, including flagship title 360 West.
In 2020, Scott sold the magazines and moved into the e-newsletter sector. In addition to publishing more than 125 newsletters annually, the company offers B2B marketing vehicles including a bimonthly print publication, targeted email and networking events.
